The water has further to travel on the outside of the fin, this produces lift toward the edge of the board that is in the water which helps the rail dig in the water. The foils on each side have been tuned into the speeds that Twin Tips are ridden. They are not flat on the inside, they have a foil which makes them work better at TT speeds.
